![]() BFN can not identify and skip the fonts which are part of the standard windows install, and removing these might cause problems in windows or other programs that presume those fonts to be available.Font manufacturers (and hence also microsoft and/or BFN) incorrectly classify many fonts as serif or sans serif even though they are not, so you can accidentally remove fonts that you might have wanted to keep.I could give you a procedure for removing "fonts like arial" or "fonts like times" using BFN - but there are two problems with doing it: ![]() There is discussion in another thread about ideas for enhancing or replacing BFN and I think that could be a good feature for it. There is not a simple "uninstall everything except the fonts that come with windows" command, which would be a good way to start. ![]() Tidying the fonts folder is not an easy job. I would say not to worry about it unless performance is unexpectedly slow or, you are having frequent crashes which are not resolved by emptying the %temp% folder. There is not a magic number and many people run with 1000 fonts or more and claim not to have trouble. But recent versions of windows together with newer computers with faster processors and more physical memory should be capable of more. Historically, we have suggested trying to keep installed fonts below 400.
